Life lesson: It's not a race, it's a pleasure
A lovely day today, very flat and long between villages. The sun was shinning, the birds were singing and we walked at a relaxed pace, allowing us to have some good conversation. I walked much of the way with my new friend from Germany, Marcel. I feel a million times better than yesterday. We are staying in a rural albergue in Moratinos tonight - it's beautiful. I'm excited because I'm swapping to my new sandals tomorrow with a special ceremony to farewell the old ones which have carried me more than 400km.
Lorenzo the Italian is taking photos
Of tiny round birds chirping along The Roman Way.
Flat pebbled white path,
Straight and clear,
Nothing to do but learn key German phrases,
And talk about Ancient Greek and mathematics.
Dawn becomes day and the sun beats down,
Flies be on your way.
My teacher is kind,
With all the patience in the world.
A slow pace, relaxed.
We have got all day.
(By the way Marcel - I deserve an A)
